The graviprobe is an instrument for rheological research and density profiling. The rheological and density conditions of the fluid and mud layers determine the probe's dynamical behavior. The probe falls under gravity through the water and gains velocity. In the sediment the velocity declines because of the shear resistance. In the probe accelerometers, inclinometers and pressure sensors gather information during intrusion in the sediment. The purposes of the measurement are:
Preparation and evaluation of dredging activities
Aquifer Consultancy can combine these activities with single- and multibeam surveys, soil or sediment sampling, watersampling and ecological research.
