An Environmental Monitoring Plan describes the implementation plan for meeting the commitments and conditions of consents for acceptable environmental impacts. The proximity of ecological valuable areas, recreational areas or beaches determines the intensity of the monitoring. Based on general requirements and environmental quality objectives the monitoring can be defined and response values can be determined.
For dredging, reclamation or disposal of dredged material the following monitoring can be executed:
- Waterquality (Faecal Indicator Bacteria)
- Sedimentation monitoring
- Hydrographic monitoring
- Sediment sampling
- Waterquality monitoring (chemical and biological)
- Ecological monitoring
For examine changes it also can be necessarry to undertake monitoring pre dredging and post dredging.
